u Overview
BR10-PS/SPS, and BR10-PMS/SPMS series load break switches are connected to the BR-10 series controls and installed on medium voltage overhead or underground distribution lines. BR-10 series controls perform functions such as measuring electrical quantities on of distribution lines, detecting line faults, auto-sectionalizing and load-shedding through voltage and current sensors built into a load break switch. Utilities can remotely control load break switches and monitor their status by using separate communication networks, communication devices or automation systems.

u Key Features
• BR10-PS/SPS series pole mounted load break switch is a three-phase gang operated load break switches that can electrically or manually open or close the main contact using a mechanism with single spring.
• Capacitive voltage sensors built into each phase of both sides to measure voltage
• Current sensors built into each phase on the source side to measure current
• Position indicator to indicate the position of the main contact of load break switch
• Mechanical locking device and its status contact to block any electrical or manual operations to load break switch
• Operating handle to manually operate load break switch using a hook stick
• Single control cable connection with its control
• Additional auxiliary contacts for the position of main contact
• Mounting brackets for installation on poles or frame structures
• BR10-PS series SF6 gas insulated load break switches
ü Tulip-shaped contacts to provide excellent electrical properties
ü Pressure relief device to release overpressure generated inside the tank
ü Low gas pressure indicator, mechanical locking device to block all attempts to operate LBS under low pressure and contact to indicate its status
ü Cylinder puffer to extinguish arc generated during opening and closing operations
• BR10-SPS series solid Insulated load breaks switches
ü Pole assemblies made of HCEP (Hydrophobic Cycloaliphatic Epoxy) to guarantee excellent insulation properties even in harsh outdoor climates
ü Vacuum interrupters with sufficiently field-proven electrical and mechanical reliability
u Applications
• Used as a load break switch for line fault detection and remote operation in combinationwith controls with built-in communication functions so that they can be integrated into distribution automation system
• Used as a sectionalizer to isolate faulty sections from the system by detecting the operation of upstream protective devices such as reclosers.
• Used as a load break switch for load shedding to maintain power quality of customers or distribution lines
• Used as a load break switch for backfeeding on open loop networks or radial distribution networks with multiple normally open points
